Rajasthan Royals bounced back from an underwhelming start to the season with a four-wicket win against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Ahmedabad. Skipper Sanju Samson lauded his team’s character and stressed how crucial it is to come back after setbacks.
Faf du Plessis feels that his side failed to make the most of Impact Player and dew, not pushing for more runs as they should have. Mahipal Lomror continues to push boundaries. In this article, we will discuss the main points of Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Rajasthan Royals Match Scorecard.
RCB 172/8 in 20 overs
The Royal Challengers Bangalore openers got off to an auspicious start, scoring two boundaries off their opening two deliveries and posting boundaries off successive deliveries. But, during the middle overs, runs were put on the board at an alarming rate due to some miscues by set batsmen getting out, including Dhruv Jurel being run out, adding extra pressure. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Sanju Samson kept their cool under pressure and managed to score crucial runs onboard.
At the close of RCB’s 20th over, there was an exciting flurry of activity as they quickly made progress towards an impressive total. Rohit Sharma and Rahul Tripathi both hit fours off three consecutive balls but it was Rahul Tripathi who truly stood out, smashing Yuzvendra Chahal over midwicket for six before following it up with four off his next delivery to achieve a quick 50 off 18 balls for himself.
RCB are looking to reach a high score in their final over and they need more boundaries in order to do this. Hetmyer attempts to hit out with his first ball but gets only an edge that goes over long-on. After one dot ball and another single by Hetmyer, the innings was finished off with a total score of 172/8 in 20 overs.

Ravichandran Ashwin finished with fantastic figures of 2/19 while Avesh Khan contributed 3/44 off his four overs. Even without their captain, Royals remain in control as they head into the final over with an innings lead of 429. A victory would ensure them a place in the playoffs for six straight years, and may put them one step closer to becoming the first team ever to win nine straight games within one season if they complete this win – although it will likely be nerve wracking going down to the wire!
RR 172/8 in 20 overs

Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Yashasvi Jaiswal made an effective start to RR’s innings but were quickly dismissed after. Sloppy fielding from RCB allowed RR to easily cross past 100 runs in powerplay overs; however, after losing wickets regularly they couldn’t sustain momentum into second half innings.
Dew made run-chase difficult for Royal Challengers Bangalore with slow pitch conditions making scoring runs at a rapid rate more difficult for their batsmen, including Rajat Patidar, Cameron Green and Mahipal Lomror who provided some resistance but ultimately buckled under pressure and conceded the match to Delhi Daredevils.
RCB lost seven wickets for just 67 runs to fall short of their target, eventually being brought down by Yuzvendra Chahal who removed Virat Kohli in the 8th over. Chahal went for his preferred slog sweep shot but ended up hitting Donovan Ferreira at deep midwicket instead, giving Chahal his 66th wicket of the tournament and overtaking Siddharth Trivedi as leading wicket-taker for Rajasthan Royals in this tournament.
