India experienced difficulty in their initial session and were reduced to 84/6 by lunch. Their innings improved during the third session with Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal contributing towards India reaching 359/7 before New Zealand collapsed under Ravindra Jadeja’s three ten-wicket hauls of the match.

India have now lost their second wicket during their chase and face an uphill task ahead to win this match.
Bumrah returns to attack and extracts a huge edge off Young’s shoulder that sails straight to leg slip. At first, the umpire waved the appeal away; but after further consideration he is convinced to review it; further inspection shows that Young did not have his bat hit by it and thus the original decision is upheld by review.
