England vs Bangladesh
England’s spinners managed to wrest an easy victory from Bangladesh with the aid of their spinners. Sophie Ecclestone took three wickets while Charlie Dean, Linsey Smith and Alice Capsey all grabbed two each.
There was stubborn resistance from Sobhana Mostary who recorded her maiden World Cup half century and Rabeya Khan who made 43 off 27 balls unbeaten; but all out for 178 in 49.4 overs.
Heather Knight led an impressive chase, while Charlie Dean’s experience proved crucial as they helped their side over the finish line. Together they shared an important 79-run partnership for the seventh wicket – marking an historic feat in Women’s ODI run-chases!
Fahima Khatun’s string of devastating overs threatened to derail England’s chase, but Knight and Dean proved their steady under pressure. There was briefly panic when Venugopalan adjudged Nat Sciver-Brunt’s caught-and-bowled off-spin catch as no-ball, but Knight ensured England would proceed towards an easy win.
At the final over, Mostary sent Dean’s full toss for four to put herself within striking distance of an ODI fifty. However, Dean held fast, with Meghla providing another four to see off the threat and end the match with style.
Tomorrow, England players can look forward to enjoying a much-deserved day off before preparing for an essential World Cup clash against South Africa. It promises to be a fascinating contest between two rival sides and should prove exciting!

England were defeated by India in their winner-takes-all third ODI at Chester-le-Street and will leave with much to consider after being trounced by Harmanpreet Kaur’s unbeaten 102 from just 84 balls batting first, then Smriti Mandhana reached her seventh ODI hundred from only 77 deliveries with Jemimah Rodrigues as England struggled to keep up.
Sophia Dunkley stepped in to replace Tammy Beaumont for the final over, teaming with captain Nat Sciver-Brunt in a 95-run partnership, but Rodrigues quickly took a tumbling catch at short leg to end both innings and game.

Nat Sciver-Brunt’s unbeaten 96 from 84 balls wasn’t enough to rescue England against India in their third women’s ODI at Chester-le-Street. India cruised to an easy win as England were overwhelmed by their strong Indian attack. Nat’s efforts weren’t enough as hosts struggled against an overpowering Indian attack despite her best efforts.
Kranti Goud made her fifth international appearance and made an immediate impactful statement by striking early blows with an arm-flick to dismiss openers Tammy Beaumont and Amy Jones with a nip-backer from Kranti Goud; though Sciver-Brunt led a recovery with Sophie Dunkley (26) and Charlie Dean (32) it never felt like a home win.
Spinner Glenn’s maiden five-wicket haul helped England limit Australia to 247 in 34.4 overs as they looked for their fourth straight win against the tourists.
Australia captain Alyssa Healy was removed for an opening ball duck by Lauren Bell before Alice Capsey produced an unbeaten 88 in just 82 balls that featured three sixes and seven fours before Dean took a diving catch to deny her the opportunity of scoring her maiden century of the series – but unfortunately England eventually fell short and suffered their second consecutive ODI loss on tour.
