England vs Pakistan Test Matches

The England and Wales Cricket Board announced on August 13th that the first Test against Pakistan will commence on September 20th in Multan, with Karachi hosting the second and Rawalpindi hosting the third. Under original plans, Karachi was to host both matches; however due to renovation work at their National Bank Stadium this had to be changed and moved elsewhere.

England have improved greatly from their under-strength squad sent to New Zealand earlier this year, yet their tour is unlikely to draw large crowds due to a combination of factors: immediately following West Indies white-ball season and next year’s Ashes series in Australia as well as it being only three matches long and thus unlikely to generate interest among fans.

However, the ECB hopes that long-form internationals against Pakistan and South Africa can increase interest in cricket beyond series that feature only three countries; longer series can demonstrate how cricket’s narrative format creates strong narratives over multiple games.

Brydon Carse will miss England’s Test series against Australia due to a toe injury sustained against India at the Champions Trophy, and has been replaced by leg spinner Rehan Ahmed as their specialist spinner will help Adil Rashid in turning over wickets more consistently in this tournament.

Jamie Overton will step in as Carse’s successor at number eight and brings similar pace and bounce as Carse, with potential to deliver destructive hitting lower down the order.

England vs Pakistan ODI Matches

England and Pakistan are two of the premier teams in cricket, drawing millions of viewers for every match between them. Considered some of its fiercest rivals, England and Pakistan have produced some of the greatest batsmen and bowlers ever seen on either side. Through years of rivalry they’ve produced some intense games of cricket between themselves that often break attendance records.

Pakistan will enjoy an eventful 2025 season when their national cricket team faces nine bilateral series across all formats – seven Test matches, 34 ODIs and over 74 T20Is will all take place throughout the year – thanks to PCB’s packed schedule that ensures they will be prepared for both ICC Champions Trophy and World Cup tournaments.

Pakistan will host England for their inaugural ODI series since 2023 World Cup. These teams met 11 times during that tournament with England holding an edge in terms of head-to-head records; however, Pakistan have won both encounters since.

Pakistan are gearing up for February’s Champions Trophy and this ODI tri-series will serve as an invaluable test match. Pakistan can use this short tournament to fine-tune their strategies and combinations before the big event; furthermore, this series can serve as valuable experience for young members of their squad.

England’s performance despite their loss was encouraging and they displayed signs of improvement in their bowling attack. Jofra Archer, Liam Dawson and Ben Dwarshuis all worked hard to restrict opponents from scoring runs; due to quick turnaround between second and third ODIs they may need to rest Jofra Archer but expect him to remain fit throughout this series.

Both teams are expected to field unchanged from their last matchup on December 12, and in Sharjah the pitch should provide little assistance for bowling teams. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat, winning it comfortably in both innings.

England vs Pakistan T20 Matches

On May 22nd, England and Pakistan will face each other in a T20 International series that is sure to provide both teams with valuable preparation ahead of the World Cup. ECB can use this as an opportunity to hone their squads; England captain Jos Buttler may attempt to break his own T20I runs record while Pakistan captain Moeen Ali hopes for another win over his counterparts.

The second match will take place at Gaddafi Stadium on May 25, with the final scheduled to be played at Lahore Cricket Ground on June 4. Their previous meeting ended in a 1-1 tie.

England have won 18 out of 31 T20 Internationals between them and Australia and lost nine. England are clear favorites going into this match-up but must remember that Australia can be dangerous opponents on home ground.

Both teams are eagerly awaiting the upcoming Test series that will run from October 7 to 28, which will start off with Multan before moving onto Karachi and Rawalpindi before concluding at Rawalpindi with live coverage provided by Sky Sports.

England will use this series as an opportunity to prove they can compete against top sides around the globe. They will be without Ben Stokes who was sidelined after suffering a hamstring injury against West Indies earlier this summer; he remains “on track” to return for this series, while Harry Brook and Jofra Archer could potentially make their comeback after missing out in India’s ODI series.

England vs Pakistan T20I Matches

England (ENG) and Pakistan (PAK) will resume their four-match T20I series this Saturday at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Both sides are in strong form in T20I formats and have each won three games already.

England will look to extend their winning streak in T20 Internationals by using Jofra Archer as part of an effective bowling attack, and build on their streak with wins in such games.

Pakistan will look to end their winless T20I streak and score some big runs in order to break this streak. Their side features Mohammad Rizwan, Fakhar Zaman, and Sohaib Maqsood who can help score quick runs for them.

It will be intriguing to watch England’s batsmen perform in such an intense, high-scoring match. Dawid Malan and Jason Roy should be kept an eye on as both have looked in great form; both were dismissed early by Shaheen Afridi; this will provide a great test for each batsman as to who can remain under pressure the best.
